Vacancy notice: Office management and finance

We're putting out a call for applications. There is a short-term vacancy in my great team in the Brussels office.

For the administrative support of my parliamentary work in the European Parliament I am looking for a Parliamentary Assistant (APA) for Office Management and Finance as of 01 January 2022.

Main tasks

  • Management of appointment requests and appointment bookings
  • logistical support for missions and trips to the constituency
  • assisting with the organisation of various events, including visitors' groups, committee or delegation visits, etc.
  • contact with the administration regarding logistical arrangements and reimbursement of costs
  • Assist with general office administration, including preparation for meetings, taking minutes, etc.
  • Overview of different budgets, settlement of office flat rate and travel expenses
  • Administration of the main email account
  • Answering citizens' queries
  • editing of videos for social media use, if necessary

Required skills

  • good organisational skills, structured way of working, enjoy administrative tasks
  • quick perception, precision, ability to work in a team, flexibility
  • administrative experience would be an advantage, as would experience of working in the European institutions (in particular the European Parliament)
  • Interest in and knowledge of European politics
  • Identification with the goals and values of Green politics
  • very good written and oral communication skills
  • Fluent in German and English, other European languages are an advantage
  • advantage: knowledge in video editing

In line with the European Parliament's recruitment requirements, successful candidates must be nationals of an EU Member State and hold a university degree (Bachelor) OR have three years' professional experience.

Job requirements

  • Aim to be recruited by the end of the current 9th parliamentary term (i.e. probably by June 2024).
  • Scope 80 – 90%
  • Salary in accordance with the scale of remuneration for parliamentary assistants in the European Parliament (APA), depending on professional experience and qualifications.
  • Sickness and accident insurance cover provided by the European Parliament
  • Main place of work is Brussels, occasional missions within Europe (mainly Strasbourg and Berlin) are required.
